Glasgow To Welcome World’s Most Travelled Pop-Up Restaurant

It will be a homecoming of sorts when the world-famous One Star House Party pop-up restaurant returns to Glasgow in December.

The foodie event is the brainchild of a couple who met in Glasgow and will set up its catering counters for a week in the city as part of a global journey that has already seen it pop up in a total of 20 different countries in just 20 months.

The pop-up is led by Kevin and Trisha McCrae and will spend a week in Glasgow after travelling to the likes of Mount Everest base camp, India and Vietnam. It has already been featured in Lonely Planet and the New York Times.

Just as catering equipment suppliers such as https://www.fridgefreezerdirect.co.uk supply a vast array of different businesses and establishments, the team behind One Star House Party features members with training from some of the best restaurants in the world. These include under-chef Tom Aikens in the English capital and NOMA in Denmark.

A Vision

Trisha explained that the team had embarked on a journey which has already taken them halfway around the planet. The pop-up is now renowned as one of the world’s most travelled eateries, having visited everywhere from Mumbai to Scotland.

Trisha called the journey ‘a culinary adventure’, explaining that it has led to them living out of their restaurant and serving a different menu every month depending on the techniques and ingredients they encounter.

Coming Home

She said that they were delighted to be returning to Glasgow and were looking forward to showing off some of the knowledge they have amassed during their journey so far.

The Glasgow event will last a week in the run-up to Christmas, from December 14 to December 21, and will feature a tasting menu made up of seven courses based on favourite dishes resulting from the restaurant’s global journey.

The eatery will pop up in Glasgow’s Pollokshaws Road, where customers will be able to enjoy the freedom of a BYOB policy. The tasting menu will be priced at £75 a person, and tickets will be available to buy on the One Star House Party website from noon on November 25.
